Week 65: The Light Came

This week on the end of sister-training-leader, things have slowed down.
We had planned several days of the week to do divisions with other sisters, but plan after plan fell through. Finally, we realized that Heavenly Father was telling us He needed us HERE, in our area, TOGETHER.

I now understand why.

We needed to get a handle on several things:

1. Area book. Haunts my conscience.
2. Our investigators.
3. The strength of the ward.

We have an incredible investigator, Estella, who offered to make tamales for the youth in the ward to help them pay for EFY. So, we rounded up the Young Men and Young Women and the leaders and set off on an adventure. It was beatufiul to see how, as she served, she felt so much more a part of the ward. And.... I learned, more or less, how to make tomales!
This same investigator was telling us that yesterday her daughter came to visit and asked why she as going to ¨the Mormon church.¨ She replied to her daughter: ¨I like this church, and I`m going to stay here.¨ The greatest part may have been that she told us that as she laid in her hammock, with a burning coconut shell to keep the mosquitos from eating us alive, as her husband sat in the other hammock, with his cute radio. These 70-year-olds that then started arguing about whether their marriage was valid or not... Oh, I love them so dearly.
She was so giddy with excitement as her husband was talking to the counselor of the stake presidency, counselor of the bishopric, and mission leader that accompanied us. She was just like a giddy school-girl. And the surprise of when she was going to the relief society activity, and he got ready to go, too. Yes, we scrambled to make sure a priesthood holder would be at the chapel to chat with him during. We sure weren`t going to kill his excitement! ADORABLE. He left the chat wanting to be with his wife for the eternities. Miracles, miracles.
Estella is a pillar. There`s always that appointment which, at the end of the day, makes all the wrongs right. Makes everything feel so much better.

.....

Sometimes Heavenly Father withdraws His presence for a time because He knows we can walk by faith. It`s like He`s showed us the path and sends us to walk on our own. Just have faith the light WILL come.
I also had a little of that mixed in this week. But, the light came. The pleadings were answered, the wrongs made right.

Truly, the miracles never cease.

 1. The Calderon family. The young man in the blue shirt was baptized in July, and now his grandparents are knowing the gospel. His grandma, the woman in green, accepted a date for September 28th. His grandpa, also in green, is praying about it. It`s incredible that by ONE person`s decision, many lives will be influenced.
 2. Making a tree for the relief society visiting teachers. Yes, I had more than 5 colors on that day. I am not depressed, mom! :)
 3. Making tomales in a service activity.
 4. Wondering how to start a fire...... ooopps.... don`t remember THAT from Girl`s Camp..........

2. A young man in the ward got his mission call. He`s an incredible example to his family. He was baptized when he was 16-ish, and then a year or two later, his littlest brother and dad were baptized. This Sunday his dad was called to be the ward secretary--his first calling. And we`re teaching his other little brother who is 17.
 3. Us eating fruit! We`re so healthy. What`s up? :)
 1. with Sister Klein, the mission president`s wife, in our house. (yes, we have a hammock. :) )
